Bikes 'n Trikes

Team Energize from the Waipa Branch of Sport Waikato have joined Te Awamutu Rotary to run fun cycle activities for children on Albert Park. Children of all ages are welcome.

Join Amy Burndred, KiwiSport Bike Officer and former NZ Roadand Track cyclist at the Bikes ‘n Trikes School Challenge!

 

Tykes on Trikes will be held for preschoolers. Children with trainer wheels on bikes are included in this event and they can also bring along their bikes/trikes decorated in Kiwiana theme. There will be an opportunity to meet Wiki the Kiwi from Otorohanga.

Students from local colleges and Te Awamutu Intermediate will be invited to assist with the planning and running of the event on the day.

Information
  • Registration opens at 9.00am until 10am on the day
  • Activities will be supervised from 10.30am until 12.00pm when spot prizes will be presented
  • Please be aware that your children are your responsibility
Children will be encouraged to watch the elite athletes start the 100km Open at 10.00am then the 30km and 12km starts from inside the fence on Albert Park. At the completion of activities children again will be encouraged to watch the same athletes finish the race from within the park.
There will be an opportunity to mix and mingle with these athletes while waiting for prize giving.

Prize giving for the Bikes ‘n Trikes and the 12km Family Fun Ride events will be held at 12 noon
